Armor WL550

Used this product along with Foundation Armor sprayer on some older stone work and it revitalized the surface. Follow the direction carefully and the finish repels water like no other product I have used

Mike was extremely knowledgeable and helped me choose WL550 after sending some possible samples for my application on a new concrete paver patio. Product was easy to spray on and two months in looks awesome! Would buy again in a second and wouldn't hesitate if I needed to call to get a question answered.

Following up on my previous review here's the after picture of our patio.

Very satisfied. We put two coats of WL550 on our 500 sq ft flagstone patio using a total of 4 gallons. Before that we pressure washed the stones and let them dry for a few days. The first coat looked nice. The second coat was applied 24 hours later and improved the effect. I recommend 2 coats for this type of stone. After two coats the flagstone looks as if it had recently rained - not shiny but with a slight sheen. Read the instructions and apply WL550 out of direct sun. You'll want to wear eye protection and gloves at a minimum. We used a $40 DeWalt 2 gallon sprayer from Home Depot for the first coat and didn't bother to clean it so purchased another one for the second coat (both went to hazmat disposal). WL550 appears to work well with Alliance Gator Max 2 grout. We've since had a few days of rain and can see the water beading on the flagstone surface.

I chose WL550 to treat new concrete pavers to obtain a wet matte look. I followed instructions meticulously. I have two areas of the same pavers. I did the first area and couldn't get the second area done as it had become too dark outside to continue spraying the product.Today is a sunny day. I can compare the treated to the yet to be treated area. The difference is minimal. It is hard to see at all. There certainly isn't a wet look as I had expected when I spent $750 for the product.During application I occasionally got a few drops on my hands. The product evaporated without leaving any residue or stickiness. I was wondering what is in there other than organic solvents.There are so many glowingly positive reviews here. Great pictures too. I don't understand. My results in now way justify the expense and the effort I went through.

Used the WL550 sealant on 7 year old broom finished concrete are pressure washing and letting dry for 48 hrs. My comments are as follows:1. The estimated coverage of 175 sq ft/gal for porous finished surfaces is optimistic. My experience coverage was ~135 sq ft/gal. I understand it depends on the skill of the person applying the product but still think about reducing your estimated coverage/gal2. As for the recommended sprayer need to amend you recommendation to state that sprayer needs to have EDPM seals or be listed for use with acetone based solvents. The way your recommendation reads it does not qualify exactly what type of sprayer can be used other than A solvent resistant commercial pump sprayer..... but no where do specify what solvent is used the WL550 so a user can determine if a sprayer is compatible.That said very satisfied with the results and am glad I chose to use this product.

We have ordered 2 - 5 gallons of WL550 and only wish we had known about this sealant 20 years ago when our home was new. After power washing our foundation and sealing it looks almost brand new. We also did a portion of the patio but wanted to make sure that it would not be slippery like other products we have tried. We will be sealing the remainder of the patio and even our limestone rock to keep our home looking its best for years. Thanks for the free shipping and quick delivery.

Foundation Armor WL550 is an excellent product. I was looking for a sealer made for natural stone that would give the darker rich color of wet stones without the glossy finish and that is exactly what I got. It was easy to apply with the right sprayer. I treated over 800 square feet of natural stone foundation veneer and 300 square feet of flagstone patio in less than 2 hours. The smell of the solvent base was strong but dissipated quickly. The end result is beautiful the stones no longer absorb water and it didn't make the patio slippery. I highly recommend this product!

Just wanting to shout out to this company. We used this product on our concrete floors and are thrilled with the results. Seriously happy!!

Purchased in July 2023 to reseal my brick mailbox with concrete capital. Also for use on some concrete memorial paws for our deceased pets. Could not be happier with the product. It is now late October and the water is still beading on my mailbox. And it really restored the color to the memorial paws. Just the right sheen - did not want anything shiny and this fit the bill perfectly. Gave everything a good cleaning let it dry in the July heat for a couple of days and then put the WL550 on. Two coats first one fairly heavy and the second light for a nice even finish. Followed the included instructions and put it on late in the day just after the sun went below the horizon. Used an inexpensive brush so no clean-up. Does have a rather robust odor but had no issues with using it outdoors. Well packaged for shipment. No leaks from the gallon jug. Gave some to my neighbor for his mailbox and he is equally pleased. Not cheap but so far worth the price. Can't yet comment on long-term durability but no reason to expect anything less than the upper range of the 3-5 years stated on the product description.

I used Foundation Armor WL550 in 2021 on my flagstone patio and it's time to recoat as it is starting to fade. All sealers must be recoated every 3-5 years. Because my patio in Sacramento CA gets intense sunlight it tends to fade faster than usual.I purchased trial sizes of the WL550 with BDStoneworks Black Diamond Enhancer Sealer which is a water-based sealer and compared the two. Both provided excellent stone enhancement. The BD sealer however requires wiping off excess sealer after 10 minutes whereas the WL550 did not. For a big job that's more work. The price point for both products is similar but I will go with the Foundation Armor because it's solvent-based which I feel provides deeper penetration in the stone and my positive experience with it.

I have a river rock chimney that kept taking on water and turning the rocks white. It needed to be sealed so I purchased foundation armor wl550. The river rock is very old and porous so I got 2 gallons for a 200 sqft chimney. The coverage rate was very off for me and I will have to purchase 3 more bottles to finish due to the rock just sucking up the sealer. That being said it was very easy to apply and the after results of the finish look great.

I bought this product to seal the front walk and steps. First let me say that the product was packaged extremely well. Heavy box and plenty of heavy duty bubble wrap.I cleaned the surface with a pressure washer. I also treated a small area with muriatic acid and rinsed well. I applied the product with a 3/8 roller and a brush on concrete that was poured more than 40 years ago. One coat and I got a great wet look.I would recommend this product

The product was easy to install covered Great it is exactly as advertised. It left a great new look to our new stamped concrete driveway. I would recommend it !

This sealer is awesome and very easy to apply. Drying time seemed very fast. I used a pump sprayer with a fan nozzle it worked really well. I sprayed the material on ledger stone panels with really great wet look results. It truly brings out the deep color of the stone ledger panels and gives a good contrast to the house color. No complaints on this product at all very impressed with the results. I highly suggest you wear a respirator or spray outdoors because there is a strong odor with this product since it is a solvent based chemical. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to enhance the natural color or your stone.

Amazing Product - look no further! Bought a sample bottle and tested it on our natural stone pavers our exterior manufactured stone accents our cement steps/patios and our concrete fireplace hearth. Brought everything back to life; the colors now have much greater depth and look much richer. Not to mention the high level of protection from being absorbed into the material not just a temporary film on the surface. This is exactly what we were looking for.

Applied WL550 to some natural stone (Cleveland shale) with gorgeous natural color variation. The product really made the colors pop as they would when wet. All with the very low-gloss surface finish that I'm looking for. Great product and will definitely purchase again!

I initially sealed a 2000 sq. ft. travertine courtyard with an oil-based sealant (advertised to last at least 2 yrs). Looked great for 3 mo. then roller tracks appeared. Reapplication with a sprayer made the tracks more prominent. Could not be removed with any solvent (e.g. Xylene Acetone HCl acid etc.). The contractor that installed the travertine said that there was nothing he could do or recommend. The courtyard was ruined. I removed the sealant with a grinder over 4 days. I applied WL 550 over a year ago. Ordering the product was easy delivery was prompt and application with a sprayer was easy. The color enhancement was uniform (no streaks or puddles) and remains durable. Water continues to bead up and the travertine erosion has completely stopped. The courtyard looks great! I give Foundation Armor and WL 550 my highest recommendation. I am thankful to have found this company and product.

We have real old Chicago brick in our TV room that needed life restored to it. And we also have 2 outside brick walkways that also need life restored to them and this product work GREAT! My wife is extremely please as am I. I would recommend this to anyone looking to restore back in brick travertine or natural stone. I also used it on those surfaces.

Prepped pavers well acid wash & power wash to remove efflorescence & sealed late in day per instructions. Did nice job of enhancing color & water is beading but efflorescence is starting to show up after only a few days very disappointed.

Provided a nice enhancement to decorative stones around our fountain. The colors of the stones now are vibrant yet still natural looking.

I really love the outcome of our flagstone patio after applying this seal. The various colors of stones in our patio really pops while creating a water protectant. I can walk barefoot without all the dust of the stone getting everywhere and it’s just an overall cleaner feel. Preparation prior to sealing took some time and planning but applying was so easy I didn’t even have to roll it out.

Great product! Finally a sealer with no acrylic film. I used a Solo 388 Acetone Sprayer ($100) and had no issues. Sprays like water. Strong odor. Did exactly as the descriptions said. Made my pavers just as beautiful as a solvent based low gloss acrylic sealer. I will definitely use this product again. I sprayed after the sun went down.
